In addition to the best views of the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park, visiting the Mirador de Toix is taking one of the most beautiful natural routes in Alicante.

The viewpoint is located in the Morro de Toix, a mountain with an altitude of 300 meters above the sea and that acts as a natural border between the municipalities of Calpe and Altea. It is also the termination in the sea of the Sierra de Bernia.

From its top we can admire from its north side, a beautiful panoramic view of the municipality of Calpe, as well as the bay of Moraira, the Cumbre del Sol de Benitachell, the Montgó Natural Park, and even on clear days, the island of Ibiza. On the other hand, if we look south, we will have views of the Greenwich Marina, the city of Altea, and the skyscrapers of the city of Benidorm.

Ruta Mirador Toix

‘Las antenas’, path next to the Mirador de Toix.

Getting to Mirador de Toix

The easiest way is to approach the beginning of the route with our vehicle and then follow the marked path during a walk of around 10 minutes.

To do this, we will access the parking lot located in the Maryvilla urbanization, at the foot of our route. It is possible that on busier days, especially in summer, you may find parking problems in the area.

From this point, we will start walking and ascend to the Mirador el Toix in about 10 minutes. From here you will undoubtedly enjoy one of the most magical sunsets in the bay of Calpe.

From here we can follow the yellow path and in about 20 minutes, we will reach the area of “the antennas”. A slightly more pronounced access but that will also give us a unique perspective of this Mediterranean thing.

The Monte Toix viewpoint is a place that invites us to take a break in our trip, sit down and appreciate both the views from this spectacular enclave. Enjoy the serenity outside the busy rhythm of the tourist centers of the Costa Blanca and enjoy a small picnic, watching the sunset and the colors of the Mediterranean.
